European sauna culture in the UK

In countries like Germany, Austria, and the Netherlands, people go to the sauna to relax, socialise, and enjoy guided rituals called aufguss. We run aufguss experiences at saunas across London.

How our experiences work

We run several different experiences, but they all share a few things in common.

Guided by a sauna master

Every experience is led by a trained sauna master. They handle everything: pouring water and essential oils over hot stones, waving towels to move the aromatic steam through the room, and setting the pace with music. You just sit back and take it in.

Time to rest between rounds

This isn't about endurance. Our experiences include multiple rounds with proper breaks in between. You cool off, grab a drink, relax. The break is part of the experience, not something to rush through.

Relaxed and social

Some people come with friends, others come alone and end up chatting with strangers. The atmosphere is laid-back. There's no pressure to perform or compete.

New to sauna? That's fine.

Some of our guests grew up with European sauna culture. Others have never set foot in a sauna before. Both are welcome.

If you've only ever experienced a gym sauna and wondered what the point was, aufguss is the thing that makes it click.

Sharing something we love

Aufguss Sauna Experience started because we wanted more people to discover what sauna can be. In parts of Europe, this kind of thing is everywhere. It's accessible, it's social, and it's a normal part of life.

We wanted to bring that here. Not as something exclusive or expensive, but as something anyone can try.
